Manassas Airshow Bringing in the Big Jets

On May 2, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Manassas Airshow is bringing in Breitling Jet Team, the largest professional civilian flight jet team. This team demonstrates aerobatics with precision, speed, mastery and style. The Breitling Team coordinates a meticulous ballet in which planes sometimes fly within three meters of each other at speeds of over 700 kilometers per hour.

They are really a sight to see and the event is free to the public.

Also performing this year are the 3rd Dimension Parachute Team, the American Helicopters Demonstration Team, Andrew McKenna P-51 and T-6 Aerobatics, the Flying Circus Stearman Flight, Scott Francis MXS Aerobatics, Jack Knutson Extra 300 Aerobatics, Matt Chapman CAP 580 Aerobatics, Randy Devere CJ-6 Aerobatics and there will be an RC Modeler Jet Demonstration. Eyes to the sky: Manassas Air Show returns May 2

The annual Manassas Air Show and Open House promises all eyes will be toward the sky as aerobatic pilots and teams perform above the Manassas Regional Airport from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2.

“The airshow is a time to showcase our local airport and businesses at the airport,” said Ann Rychlik, who is co-chairing the event. “It is also a spectacular display of vintage and state-of-the-art airplanes and helicopters. It is fun for the whole family. There are many activities for kids and a dozen food vendors.”

Headlining this year’s show is the Brietling Jet Team, the largest civilian jet team. Its motto is “Precision. Speed. Audacity.” Their performances are a blend of technique, mastery and style.

Other performances include the 3rd Dimension Parachute Team, American Helicopters Demonstration Team, Andrew McKenna P-51 and T-6 Aerobatics, Art Nalls Sea Harrier Demonstration, Flying Circus Stearman Flight, Scott Francis MXS Aerobatics, Jack Knutson Extra 300 Aerobatics, Matt Chapman CAP 580 Aerobatics, Randy Devere CJ-6 Aerobatics, Hobby Hangar/VA Flyers, Dave Schultz Airshows.

The aerobatic portion of the show will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m.

While there will be plenty of activity in the sky, visitors also will have plenty to explore on the ground. Read more here!
